Slow Food Urban San Diego has the following committees:
The Education Committee provides Slow Food Urban San Diego’s membership with education and enrichment opportunities and supports campus and schools chapters. Promotes awareness of Slow Food programs.
The Ark of Taste Committee describes and promotes forgotten flavors
The Food Justice Committee collaborates with San Diego food access/security organizations and environmental and other organizations to promote sustainable agriculture and urban farming.
The Communications Committee members facilitate Chapter communications through website maintenance, newsletter, social media and networking and ensures consistency of communications to members, media and the community.
The Membership Committee maintains and updates the Chapter’s membership list and recruits and retains members.
The Outreach Committee represents Slow Food Urban San Diego at community events; coordinates with Membership to develop and coordinate programs to build the Chapter membership.
The Volunteer Coordinator develops opportunities for Slow Food volunteers to contribute to its community and coordinates volunteers for Slow Food events.
The Fund Development Committee creates, maintains and updates an inventory of resources of potential donors and sponsors; develops and implements a fund-raising campaign to be supported by the Board.
The Special Projects Committee connects the Chapter with larger national campaigns and movements, including those spearheaded by Slow Food USA; Identifies appropriate topics for Chapter engagement and supports community relations.
The Farm Liaison works to link Slow Food Urban San Diego with the local farming community and recommends strategies for the Chapter to advocate for and support farmers.
The International Liaison focuses on the projects and interests of Slow Food International and develops programs to keep the Chapter connected with the greater Slow Food community.
