From the organizers’ announcement:
Organizers transform Grand Avenue into an Artisanal Farmers’ Market with a Street Festival vibe, including live music, vendor booths and specialty tastings of premium cheeses paired with craft beers and boutique wines.
Local businesses host specialty cheeses as well as “off Grand” restaurant tasting stops while downtown restaurants will provide samples of their culinary creations. For those 21 and older, tasting stops will feature craft beers and boutique wines. Cheese making classes will also be offered with wine tasting from Vesper Vineyards.
“There has been talk about Escondido’s potential to establish its identity as a “Sonoma South,” says Shawna Cruise of The Loft Hair Design & Skincare, adding “Our committee includes many people in the local food industry and slow food movement who are working toward bringing this identity to fruition.”
Beverages and cheeses will be presented by Fiscalini Farmstead, Offbeat Brewing Co, Stone Brewing Co., Triple B Ranches, TAJ Farms, Bravo Farms, Konyn Dairy, EscoGelato, Dairy Goddess, California Avocado Grill and many more.
The organizing committee includes individuals from Stone Brewing Co., Dr. Bronners Magic Soaps, Konyn Dairy and more.
