In December, Chef Ann Cooper visited San Diego to raise awareness about the need to reform school lunches. Thanks to her efforts, in collaboration with Whole Foods, Albert Einstein Academies and Slow Food Urban San Diego, Mayor Jerry Sanders declared February 18, 2010 "Healthy Meals Healthy Kids Day." The day helped recognize those who are working toward bringing wholesome, nutritious foods to school lunchrooms.
