Election Process
The nomination and election process for new board members will take about three months. Below is the timeline and description of the election process:
Application Period - SFUSD is actively soliciting applications for current board vacancies from July 15 through August 14, 2010. Anyone interested in being on the board needs to submit:
· A statement of interest outlining your interest in Slow Food, agriculture, farmers, food justice, food, wine or any other areas related to Food
· A brief bio outlining your background and experience. The bio will allow SFUSD to match candidates to the board openings that best match their talents
Completed applications should be submitted to applicant@slowfoodurbansandiego.org
Interview Period - All candidates will be interviewed by the current SFUSD Executive Committee
· The statements of interest and bios will be reviewed once the application process closes
· Interview times will be established with all viable candidates. Think of this as a "getting to know you" visit. They will be informal and give all parties a chance to get acquainted.
· The interview process is expected to be completed by September 17, 2010
Election Period - A formal election will be held in October with new board members taking their new offices in January 2011
· The election dates are Oct 5 - 15, 2010
· New board officers will be announced November 1, 2010
