    1. San Diego Community Mini Market Potluck
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      From event website:

I know holiday shopping is the last thing you want to think about but you know it’s coming, you know you have to do it at some point. Whether it’s for a company gift exchange, or your family’s secret santa, or getting that something special for your boo – you know you need a gift! So why not pick up something made from the heart and possibly by someone you may know!!

That’s the idea for this event!!

Plus it’s even more than that b/c we will have art, music, and food!!!
Plus were doing crafts too!! These could also be cool gifts!
Wow, homemade gifts from you? Your parents will love it!!!

But really this event is for you! It’s for you to have a good time with your friends and check out what the community has to amaze us with!

Please be sure to bring a dish for the potluck!
Anything you can bring will be greatly appreciated.

Also we would like to ask that you bring your own utensils, plates, and cups if possible to help from less contribution to the already exuberant amount of plastic that already exists ;)

Let’s get together for a great time together and enjoy each other gifts and company while building our community!

We have some vendors for the mini-market already signed up but I am looking for some more crafters, herbalists, and creative DIY people who are looking to get their products known by people of the community {and make a couple extra bucks too} So if you or someone you know has a special skill or product and would be interested in showcasing their product please tell them about this event and have them contact me directly at Nikki@bnhealthy.net

      Buy tickets here.

    1. Cooks Confab Christmas Dinner
      1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      From the event website:

The Cooks Confablieri, San Diego’s famed grouping of notable chefs and mixologists, is hosting a premiere event this winter. Taking a step back into the Victorian age realm with a classic British style holiday dinner, Christmas Dinner! will be held at Oliver & Rose on Sunday, Dec. 16th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Cooks Confab has teamed up with its longtime partner Slow Food Urban San Diego to give San Diegans an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind classic British Christmas dinner where guests will enjoy the experience of an old-fashioned Christmas dinner with a variety of activities sure to please.

Cooks Confab is a group of like-minded chefs who band together every few months to create meals centered around a theme or central ingredient. The mission: promote local, sustainable and responsible menus, bring good people and great food together, share the love, and if we educate our guests on the food or its provenance, all the better. Accessible. Affordable. Fluid. Fun. A percentage of the proceeds from each Confab event is donated to Slow Food Urban San Diego, because we all believe in their mission.

    2. Dinner at Catalina Offshore
      5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      From the event website:

Join us for a celebration of local seafood at Catalina Offshore Products; one of the largest seafood import and export companies in California! Catalina Offshore purchases fresh seafood directly from reputable fishermen who catch seafood throughout the pristine waters of Southern and Baja California.

Your 5 course dinner, prepared by Chefs Jenn Felmley, a local food instructor and Logan Mitchell of Cellar Door. Paired with cheeses by Venissimo Cheese and wine pairings by Quigley Fine Wines, your meal will be served at a single communal table.

Dinner will begin with a sampling of local seafood hors d’oeuvres, a craft cocktail by Gary of Cellar Door, and a tour of the newly remodeled Catalina Offshore. You’ll also meet your fellow guests, local fish monger Tommy Gomes, and food artisans who have contributed to the dinner.

The meal will feature 100% local seafood from Catalina Offshore Products. In keeping with our focus on local food culture, other ingredients will be sourced as best as possible from local sources. Each course will be paired with a carefully selected wine, beer or cocktail. At each course, the chef will discuss the ingredients, where they came from, and what inspired each dish.

See event Facebook page for more details, or buy your tickets here.
