Now in our ninth year, the San Diego International Beer Festival has become one of the top beer festivals and competitions in the U.S.! Last year, nearly 11,000 beer lovers joined in on one of our five tasting sessions, sipping their way through their choice of 400+ varieties of ale, cider, porter, stout, mead and more!
Each year, the SDIBF represents an international collection of more than 400 beers from more than 15 countries, in the format of a public tasting event and private competition. SDIBF brings together the brewers and beers to recognize the best in the industry and highlight new and upcoming breweries in one of the most unique venues in the world. Where else can you taste award winning beers, ride the Ferris wheel, chomp on a turkey leg, explore award-winning exhibits and attend a concert all in the same day? This event showcases the diverse beers that make craft brewing on elf the fastest-growing segments of the beer, wine and spirits industry. SDIBF was founded in 2007 and has been growing and evolving ever since, welcoming thousands of beer lovers annually!
This grand-daddy of all beer festivals is enhanced by a fierce competition between the world’s finest breweries. In 2015, more than 200 breweries from 11 countries across the globe vied for the coveted Best of Show trophy and Champion Brewery awards.
The Solana Center for Environmental Innovation is hosting free composting workshops on June 13th!
Solana Center touches more than 10,000 San Diego County residents each year through its environmental education and community outreach programs. We educate approximately 4,500 San Diego County students each year and provide more than 600 compost and worm bins annually. Each year we add capacity and infrastructure to divert 1.3 million pound of organic waste from landfills.
For 30 years, Solana Center has worked at the grass roots level to encourage the community to change the way they think about their environment. We promote the sustainable management of resources through education, and hope that people will begin to rethink the products they use and how we can reduce our impact on the planet.
