The San Diego Food System Alliance presents the Food Waste Solution Summit III
Action-packed convening for multi-sector leaders and advocates committed to food waste and hunger in San Diego County.
We believe in retiring the word “waste” when it comes to food because all resources are valuable. Join us in this year’s Summit to:
- Discuss promising solutions and high-impact opportunities
- Hear national trends and align San Diego’s actions
- Network and collaborate across sectors
- Strategize to advance policies and actions forward in San Diego
- Share resources and best practices to address food waste now

Slow Food Urban San Diego cordially invites you to our largest collection of slow food activists in San Diego County: The Good Food Community Fair. Join us on Sunday, October 1st from 11am – 3pm as we celebrate all things slow and expand the community table to anyone and everyone interested in exploring the Good, Clean, and Fair food movement in San Diego.
What to Expect: We like to think of the fair as part festival, part conference, part food-stravaganza. You’ll get to enjoy culinary demos and panel discussions while sampling delicious libations and tasty treats from local food purveyors, learn about the true cost and value of food from local farmers, take a tour of the first sustainable, edible garden in Balboa park, meet local organizations dedicated to food justice and more!
Special programming and community partners will highlight and celebrate our community’s successes in fair food and discuss ways we can work toward a more just and regenerative food system for all people, animals, and the land. Stay tuned for final schedule.
Location: The Worldbeat Cultural Center in Balboa Park – with free parking across the street
Tickets: Encouraged donation of $5 pre-sale, $10 at the door
