Grain-Free Cooking Class2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Join Slow Food Urban San Diego at Cups La Jolla for a culinary showcase of grain-free cooking. Grain free diets have increased in popularity in recent years with those who follow a “Paleo” style diet, and also those who are gluten-sensitive. Eliminating or cutting back on grains may also be beneficial to diabetics, pre-diabetics, and those with other digestive issues. Even if you don’t have these issues, it may still benefit you to learn about a few grain-free dishes that focus on tasty vegetables and fruits, meat, and nuts. Rachel Helmer and Michelle Guidroz will take you on a grain-free journey in the culinary kitchen at Cups, preparing an autumn brunch which will include Grain Free Pumpkin Muffins, Grain Free Apple Crumble, a delicious salad, and an autumn themed pizza. Yes, that’s right, a grain free pizza. Everyone will be able to sample the goodness we create, and we will provide recipes for everyone to take home. Keep an eye out for more details on our website when tickets become available.
