Two simple things you can do to help take back control of our seeds and why this is important.
Faculty: Bill McDorman is Executive Director and cofounder of the Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance (RockyMountainSeeds.org), SeedSave.org and Seed School. Bill has been teaching seed saving for decades and is dedicated to educating communities about the value of seed saving and local seeds as the foundation of local food.

The San Diego Fermentation Festival is a family-friendly outdoor festival featuring:
– A Makers Marketplace showcasing the southern California bounty of artisanal foodmakers and brewers
– Keynote speech about the Human Microbiome by Dr. Rob Knight, professor at UCSD and co-founder of the American Gut Project
– Workshops and presentations given by fermentation experts covering how and why to make and eat fermented foods and beverages
– Do-It-Yourself Fermentation stations where you can learn hands-on how to make fermented food
– Wholeness Pavilion- Give your Whole Self a break! Yoga classes, sound healing, other relaxation and rejuvenation activities
– An Ambrosia Garden (21+) featuring fermented adult beverages such as mead, beer, kombucha* and wine

This winter we are thrilled to showcase the glorious produce of Stehly Farms and our own Red Door Family Garden, pastured beef from Autonomy Farms, sustainably sourced fish from Catalina Offshore and the wines of Ramona Ranch Winery.
6:00 Farmer Facetime, producer meet and greet with family style appetizers.
6:30 – Chef Miguel’s four course tribute to the work that our farmers do. With wine pairings and narration by farmers, fisherman, wine makers and chef.
